Same as last year, we anticipate a tremendous response to our Bar U Seeding weekend with lots of enthusiastic folks committing to attending, and lots of horsepower – over 50 horses last year.
To keep things fun and safe we’ve tightened up our guidelines so that EVERYONE has a great time. Please give a read and fill out the Parks Canada form (see link below).
The horse-farming project at the Bar U Ranch NHS is meant to provide a place where teamsters can learn to farm with horses, and preserve the knowledge for future generations.
We are a group of draft horse people helping each other become better teamsters, by sharing our knowledge and friendship.
This year we have a record number of teams and Teamster’s signed up, IN ADVANCE EVEN! To ensure we all play safe and ‘get along’ there are a few rules we must abide by.
1. All Teamsters MUST provide proof of AEF (Alberta Equestrian Federation) insurance coverage or equivalent to Terry Bailey
2. All volunteers MUST fill out the Parks Canada Individual Volunteer Form. This form covers you under Parks Canada insurance. When you come onto the site please hand the completed form to Terry Bailey.
3. We will start each day with a breakfast, safety briefing and mini-seminar. You must attend to drive horses. Daily wristbands will be handed out after the meal.
There will be Walking Boss’s on site – Dale Befus, Tyler Setzer & Dean Sundquist. They are charged with keeping the operation safe and enjoyable.
They have absolute authority over teams and teamsters!

GOOD NEIGHBOUR RULES

Saturday will be a very busy day. We are sharing the park with several groups for the day. Be courteous, respectful and cautious.
NO LOOSE DOGS
Leave the area as clean as you found it.
